Worshipping God

Following Jesus

Sharing His Love

The Generosity of God

God gives, gives and gives again.  He breathed this glorious universe into being,

gave us His Son to rescue us when we went our own way and gives new life
to all who trust in Jesus Christ.

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich,

yet for your sakes he became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich.

(2 Corinthians 8:9, the Bible)

Followers of Jesus realise just how much God gives us day-by-day, as we know Him in our lives.  And so it’s only appropriate that we give back to God some of the resources that He has entrusted to us.  To commit our treasure, our time and our talents to God is a sign of our love for Him and our desire to help others to know the wonderful love of God.

The way in which you have proved yourselves by this service will bring honour and praise to God. You believed the message about Christ and you obeyed it by sharing generously with God's people and with everyone else. (2 Corinthians 9:13, the Bible)

God promises so much blessing to those who are faithful in the area of stewardship.

Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. (2 Corinthians 9:6, the Bible)

Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this, says the LORD Almighty, and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. (Malachi 3:10, the Bible)

Giving Back to God

The Church of England recommends that each Christian give 10% of their income to God’s work.

Many members of St Michael’s do this, and have discovered the blessings that God gives.

Additionally, of course, St Michael’s continues to exist because of the generous stewardship

and giving of our members.

We receive no financial help from the Government and need to meet the costs of

our local mission and ministry as well as contributing to the work of our Diocese of Hereford.

We need to continue to serve Ledbury and so your contribution is important in helping us to do that.

Stewardship at St Michael’s

We encourage all our members to participate in our Stewardship Scheme, contributing to the Church

- either by regular Standing Order

- or through weekly envelopes that we provide.

Additionally, if you are a taxpayer, then the value of any gifts you make can be increased by 25% at absolutely no cost to you if you complete a Gift Aid form.

(Yellow Gift Aid envelopes for one-off gifts are always available in Church, but it helps us considerably with our paperwork if people join our Stewardship Scheme and use regular weekly envelopes, Standing Order or The Parish Giving Scheme.  Many thanks.)

If you would like to join our Stewardship Scheme, or for more information about Gift Aid, weekly envelopes, giving by Standing Order or leaving a legacy to St Michael’s in your will, then please contact our Gift Aid Co-ordinator, David Kirkham who will be able to give you all the information that you need.  Or, Join our Stewardship Scheme by downloading this form.

(NB: If you do kindly download and complete a Gift Aid form or a Standing Order form,

or post it to him c/o the Group Office.

Thank you

If you already contribute, THANK YOU.
