LEDBURY FOOD BANK

Because no-one deserves to be hungry

The Ledbury Food Bank is an activity for the people of the Ledbury area, by the people of the Ledbury Area, led by the churches of Ledbury

We are one in a chain of independent Food Banks covering the Diocese of Hereford.  We seek to cover the area of the Ledbury Deanery (Ledbury Town and surrounding villages) and the catchment areas of Ledbury schools.

The Ledbury Food Bank opened in November 2012; it works in cooperation with many churches, organisations and individuals in the Ledbury area.

The primary object of the Food Bank is to relieve short term hunger by distributing food parcels on receipt of vouchers issued by statutory and other agencies and in response to emergency need.

In addition to the Lead Group, about thirty volunteers serve the Food Bank in various capacities.

HOW DO I GET THE FOOD I NEED?

The Food Bank is on the first floor of St Katherine’s Hall in the centre of Ledbury.  It is open from 10.30 to 12.30 on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Nobody coming to the Food Bank for help is refused or sent away empty handed.

If you have a voucher, bring it when we are open.  We will give you enough food for the number of people on the voucher.

Food Bank vouchers are available from:

Ledbury Town Council Offices (Wednesdays only, 9.45-10.45am) • AgeUK Ledbury • Ledbury Police Community Support Officers • LEDBURY COMMUNITY HOSPITAL: District Nurses • Health Visitors • The Midwives Service • Mental Health Team • Homestart Herefordshire • CAB Hereford • Hereford Job Centre • Hereford Probation Service • Hereford Welfare Rights • DASH Hereford • Fortis Housing Association • Some local clergy
