The Flower Guild receives many compliments from the congregation and visitors for the arrangements in Church, especially for the splendid displays at Easter, Harvest and Christmas. We have meetings to plan who is going to do what for the major festivals and the flowers are usually ordered in bulk. We all pick foliage and try to get together to do the arrangements. The atmosphere as we arrange the displays is always friendly and we usually manage to find time for coffee and biscuits!
We are always pleased to welcome new members to the Guild. We work in pairs for the main rota and there is plenty of support for new volunteers. Judy Street runs a monthly class in the Chapter House for beginners or anyone who is interested in refreshing their skills.
It is very informal newcomers are very welcome. We really appreciate new faces.
We raise funds for the flowers through open gardens and teas.
Members of the congregation also contribute to our expenses whether as sponsors of arrangements on a particular day or donations given for Easter or Christmas. The support is much appreciated.
If you are interested in either joining the Flower Guild or sponsoring an arrangement at any time, please ring the Group Office on (01531) 631531 or email the Group Office, which will put you in touch with Judy.
